The Crusaders chose the site for this fortress well: the Hebrew name Kochav Hayarden (the Star of the Jordan) and the Arabic Kaukab el Hauwa (the Star of the Wind) underscore Belvoir's splendid isolation. You don't need to be a military historian to marvel at the never-breached concentric walls.
