Cape Agulhas and Bredasdorp
Cape Agulhas is the southernmost point in Africa and the place where the Indian and Atlantic oceans officially meet: selfies here are obligatory. For a small fee, you can climb the Cape Agulhas lighthouse, which also has an interesting collection of photographs of lighthouses around the country. The nearby town, L'Agulhas, is a sleepy seaside town with a few guesthouses and seafood restaurants. This part of the Overberg is rugged and underpopulated, crisscrossed with dirt roads and dotted with farming hamlets. The largest town in the region is Bredasdorp, home to a great small-town museum documenting the coast's long history of shipwrecks.
