The Alverton
Formerly a convent, this atmospheric lodging has a chapel that was designed by John Loughborough Pearson, architect of Truro Cathedral, as well as a main building with large, comfortable guest rooms equipped with modern fittings and luxurious bathrooms and a separate Courtyard annex with spacious suites. Quiet elegance permeates the public areas, and the semiformal restaurant offers a choice of seafood and meat dishes. The town center is a short downhill walk away.
