Hotel Der Blaue Reiter
Named after the short-lived prewar art movement, Der Blaue Reiter is a colorful place to stay in a lovely residential neighborhood on Karlsruhe's eastern outskirts. The simple, modern furnishings are complemented by contemporary reprints of artworks by some of the blue riders, including August Macke and Paul Klee. Since its opening in 2001, the family-run hotel has expanded to include a conference and business/art center.
