ABOUT

The appeal of the surrounding, fertile coastal plain was not lost on the ancient Minoans, who left behind ruins that are not as grand as those on the center of the island but are evocative nonetheless. Today, Palekastro is a sleepy village primarily known as a gateway to the superb beaches around the peninsula and as a center for watersports, as people come from all over Europe to enjoy the winds.
