14 Best Places to Shop in Todos Santos, Los Cabos and the Baja Peninsula

Background Illustration for Shopping

Although Todos Santos is gaining renown in all aspects of its tourism offerings, the name still means shopping to most Los Cabos–area visitors. Artists from the U.S. Southwest (and a few from Mexico) found a haven here some two decades ago. Their galleries and shops showcase traditional and contemporary work. There is a strong Baja emphasis in the art, and you'll find beautiful jewelry and fine crafts from all over Mexico.

Galería de Todos Santos

Fodor's Choice

When Michael Cope opened this gallery 30 years ago alongside his wife, Pat, it was the first in Todos Santos to represent a group of artists from different mediums: painters, sculptors, and photographers. The rule was (and remains) simple: you could be from anywhere, but you had to live in Mexico. Today, Michael and his partner-in-paint Erick Ochoa (Pat has retired) showcase the work of 12 different artists, the majority of whom are Mexican.

Bésame Mucho Bazaar

Bésame Mucho is as much a tourist attraction as a shop, as the patio outside is the most photographed in Todos Santos: just try not posing in front of the colorful Aztec Calendar or on the romantic kiss bench. Inside, the boutique sells a wildly wonderful variety of glittery goods: everything from clothing to accessories to home decor. Owner Rouss Del Toro's tastes may be more eclectic than most, but the people who love her merch will love it.

Brilanti Fine Art

Brilanti Fine Art is a showcase for the stunning jewelry and design works of famed Taxco silversmith Ana Brilanti, in addition to a number of other contemporary jewelry artists whose work shares the same dramatic aesthetic. Be sure to look at the silver tea services and other functional pieces. You'll also find selected stone carvings and bronzes from local artists. Extended members of the (clearly gifted) family have gone to open a total of five distinct jewelry shops to sell their work, all on Centenario.

Cielito Lindo

Originally started as a way to support local craftsmen during the pandemic, this permanent craft fair in the parking lot of Hotel California has become the premiere spot to buy handcrafted souvenirs. You can find all of the typical goods, like jewelry, T-shirts, and glass ornaments, but quirky, creative items, too. Take, for example, maker Adrián Bailón Garcia, who sells swords he fastens out of swordfish and marlin bones. There are whispers that the present owner of Hotel California is looking to retake the land, so the physical site may change, but fear not! There's no way the local community will let this gem disappear.
