Mayakoba
Mayakoba (meaning "village of water") is home to three of the world's most exclusive resorts—the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Fairmont Mayakoba, and Rosewood Mayakoba. They are connected by a network of canals that inspire the property’s tagline, "the Venice of the Caribbean." Aside from luxury lodgings, this 1,600-acre enclave supports mangrove forests, freshwater lagoons, beach dunes, and sunken cenotes; and the resident wildlife includes monkeys, turtles, crocodiles, and 160 species of birds. Here, spas are perched amid jungle treetops, and thatch-roof boats drift between limestone waterways.
