ABOUT

Delta is not only a handy stop on the Richardson Highway, it's the official western terminus of the Alaska Highway. In summer, Delta, the largest agricultural center in Alaska, becomes a bustling rest stop for road-weary travelers. The town is known for its access to good fishing and its proximity to the Delta Bison Range. Don't expect to see the elusive 500-strong bison herd, though, as the animals roam freely and generally avoid people.
