Conveniently located right off Highway 89, this comfortable and exceedingly clean Hampton Inn, one of the newest hotels in Page, has bright, larger-than-expected rooms with TVs and workspace. Staff is exceptionally friendly and goes the extra mile to suggest activities and restaurants as well as provide bottled water before or after a day out.

This sprawling property consisting of several one- and two-story buildings, run by Aramark, sits on a promontory above Lake Powell and serves as the center for recreational activities in the area—guests can relax beside two seasonal swimming pools. The traditionally appointed suites are attractive and light-filled, and most have wonderful lake views; all are equipped with MP3 clock radios. Restaurants include the sophisticated Rainbow Room, a coffeehouse, and a seasonal pizza parlor.

Formerly the Quality Inn Navajo Nation, this long-standing hotel has upgraded its rooms in an effort to better compete with the snazzy Moenkopi Legacy Inn down the street, but it's still a pretty run-of-the-mill property. This hotel is adjacent to the historic Tuba City Trading Post and the excellent Explore Navajo Interactive Museum, and there's a decent restaurant on-site.

Rooms in this two-story beam-and-stucco hotel near the Navajo Museum are decorated with an earthy Navajo-inspired palette that complements the dark wood furnishings. The decor, bedding, and amenities exceed typical Quality Inn standards and are nicer than you might guess given the hotel's drab exterior. The Diné Restaurant serves tasty Navajo and Southwestern fare (mutton stew, Navajo tacos, veggie burritos) plus a handful of American standards, and the gift shop sells authentic Navajo jewelry.

This quirky motel's well-maintained, Southwestern-style, rustic rooms overlook the San Juan River in Mexican Hat, Utah, and the setting, against the red rocks, is quite inspiring, even if accommodations have few frills. A few miles away, the inn's three yurts provide a glamping option. Diners can watch the river at the Olde Bridge Grille, which serves great grilled steak and juicy hamburgers, fresh trout, and inexpensive Navajo dishes—it's also the only place for 100 miles in any direction with a liquor license.

This clean but very basic two-story, red-tile-roofed motel, located in an area with few lodging options, has Southwestern decor and plain furnishings. This two-story motel about 3 miles from Canyon de Chelly but close to the junction with U.S. 191 has cheerful rooms with modern, no-frills oak furnishings and coffeemakers. The on-site Junction restaurant is one of the few spots in town to serve three meals a day, year-round, and there's a very good gift shop off the lobby.

Once called Garcia's Trading Post, this well-kept hotel near Canyon de Chelly is less generic than you might expect: the exterior is "territorial fort" in style and the rooms have been updated with jewel tones and minimalist artwork. Off the lobby there's a gift shop stocked with local Native American arts and crafts, plus a decent restaurant.
