Background Illustration for Hotels

In the park's southwest corner, Disney's third resort area comprises a mix of high-end, moderate-range, and budget-price complexes.

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

$$$$ | 2901 Osceola Pkwy., Walt Disney World, FL, 32830, USA Fodor's Choice

Entering the vast atrium lobby of this African-inspired lodge is like entering a cathedral with a roof formed of thatch instead of stone; giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife roam just outside the windows of the resort, designed to resemble an African kraal (animal enclosure). It is worth it to pay for the Safari view, which means your balcony will overlook the savanna where the animals roam.

Pros

  • Extraordinary on-site wildlife and cultural experiences
  • Excellent restaurants
  • Breakfast buffet in Boma is a bargain

Cons

  • Shuttle to parks other than Animal Kingdom can take more than an hour
  • Concierge-level rooms have hefty surcharge
  • Long corridors

Disney's All-Star Sports Resort

$$ | 1701 W. Buena Vista Dr., Walt Disney World, FL, 32830, USA

Stay here if you want the All-American, sports-mad, Disney-with-your-kids experience, or if you're a couple to whom all that pitter-pattering of little feet is a reasonable trade-off for a good deal on a room, albeit a small one.

  • Unbeatable price for a Disney property
  • Kids love sports themes
  • Close to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Cons

  • Often used for school groups, can be loud
  • Vast distances between rooms and on-site amenities
  • Farthest resort from Magic Kingdom means you'll spend time on the bus

Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas–Kidani Village

$$$$ | 3701 Osceola Pkwy., Walt Disney World, FL, 32830, USA

Pros

  • Animal views from most rooms
  • Quieter hotel
  • Biggest suites on Disney property

Cons

  • Farthest away of any luxury hotel
  • No spa
