Volcano Village
Located right outside the park boundary and surrounded by rain forest, Volcano Village is a residential neighborhood that offers vacation rental accommodations, B&Bs, a gas station, a post office, an art school, galleries, shops, a general store, and a fun Sunday farmers' market. The immediate area also has a country club and golf course, as well as the popular Volcano Winery. Next door to the winery, the Keauhou Bird Conservation Center is not open to the public, but if you listen closely, you may be able to hear the call of the highly endangered alala (Hawaiian crow), a species being bred in captivity at the center.
