This adorable hamlet sits high above the Delaware River. The river is unusually wide here, making this a prime spot for spotting bald eagles and other birds of prey. On the main drag, antiques shops, art galleries, and bookstores attract locals and newcomers alike.

Barryville, a 20-minute drive southeast of Narrowsburg, is another gem. Many of its historic structures have been transformed into cozy B&Bs.
