North Asheville

The area north of downtown Asheville is largely residential and comprises several smaller neighborhoods. The historic Montford and Grove Park neighborhoods are the closest to downtown and home to fine Victorian-era houses, including many remarkable Queen Anne homes from the late 19th century. North of Montford is the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, nationally known for its liberal arts focus.
