There are actually two shopping areas in this hillside neighborhood—the more urban-feeling Lower Queen Anne, near the large Seattle Center campus, and the more neighborhoody Upper Queen Anne, along Queen Anne Avenue North at the top of the hill. West from the Seattle Center along Queen Anne and Mercer Avenues are tiny cafés, antiques, and music stores. The cluster of businesses at the top of the hill includes a bookshop, gift stores, and a heralded wine shop.
Best shopping: Along Queen Anne Avenue North between West Harrison and Roy Streets, and between West Galer and McGraw Streets.
