Tsonga
Makers of gorgeous handcrafted handbags and supremely comfortable leather shoes, Tsonga has its roots and inspiration in Lidgetton, where the iconic hand-stitching detail, a skill of the local women, originates. Inspired by the people he grew up around, founder Peter Maree created an African-influenced collection that provided valuable skills to this impoverished community; transformed from an old abandoned school building, the Thread of Hope Farm became the training center where the skills were taught. With stores in South Africa and Australia, this is the original outpost. It's not a factory store selling bargains, though you can occasionally find items on sale.
