Garden Marlborough

Marlborough's climate and soils encourage great gardens and this is one of the country's most popular garden festivals. For five days in November you can wander through inspiring and beautifully kept gardens, and partake in workshops and social events. Watch the website for bookings; tickets go on sale at least a couple of months ahead.

Marlborough Food and Wine Festival

Surrounded by former original vineyard sites and nestled amongst some of the most prolific winemakers, this is the country's longest-running wine and food festival. Foodies can savor an array of wine tasting and food sampling, watch chef demonstrations, and hear live music. The event is held at Renwick Domain on the second Saturday of every February. There are different tiers for ticket pricing: general admission, lounge, and VIP retreat, which is the all-inclusive package. There are seats for additional master classes as well, which can be purchased separately.

Nelson Arts Festival

A top music and performance event is the Nelson Arts Festival, usually held in October. It's a magnet for top-notch Kiwi and international acts.
