The Best Hotel in Bonaire

Background Illustration for Hotels

Although meal plans are available at the larger hotels, the island has many excellent—and often inexpensive—restaurants. If you're planning a dive vacation, look into the many attractive dive packages. If you prefer a self-catering option, Bonaire has a large selection of condo- and apartment-style properties.

Bruce Bowker's Carib Inn

$ | J. A. Abraham Blvd. 46, Kralendijk, Bonaire

The cozy rooms and the personal touches of late owner–dive-instructor legend Bruce Bowker are why this resort consistently boasts the highest return-visitor ratio on the island (there is a minimum three-night stay). Most apartment-style units have kitchens, and all bedrooms are air-conditioned. Also on-site are two stand-alone house accommodations of three and four bedrooms, a cute stand-alone bungalow and a two-bedroom oceanfront apartment. As a PADI Five Star lodge. the emphasis here is on diving, diving, and more diving, but even novice divers can benefit from the small class sizes and the snorkeling is great, too.

Pros

  • Intimate and friendly
  • Excellent dive courses
  • Wi-Fi throughout

Cons

  • Some accommodations are rather spartan
  • Nondivers will find little to entertain them
  • Tiny pool
