3 Best Hotels in Saba

Background Illustration for Hotels

Variety is the key for Saba's 100 or so hotel rooms. Accomodations are primarily in a handful of friendly, tidy inns or guesthouses perched on ledges or tucked into tropical gardens. You'll also find a single luxury hotel, as well as one that is practically camping, but also everything in between, including rental apartments, villas, and cottages. Location isn't as much an issue in Saba as in some other destinations. There are no beachfront accommodations, and the island is so small you can get around from anywhere. Cable TV is common, but air-conditioning is rare; cool nights and overhead fans keep rooms pleasant.

Poets and Painters Cottage

$$$ | 6 Fort St., Windwardside, Saba Fodor's Choice

At first glance, this 150-year-old property, once the residence of Dominican nuns, seems like a simple, white, traditional Saban cottage, but its interior is quite lavish, with original mahogany floors as well as antiques and decorative objects from all over the world. In addition to two ensuite bedrooms, there's a formal dining space, an eclectic sitting room where the flat-screen TV is stashed inside an antique cabinet, and a fully-equipped kitchen. You can also barbecue in the gorgeous, bloom-filled garden.

  • Modern amenities like Wi-Fi and a/c
  • Museum-worthy decor
