In recent years, Neukölln has transformed from a largely unpopular neighborhood to the hottest destination in town. Its northern edge, which borders Kreuzberg and is referred to as Kreuzkölln by locals, is home to countless bars, restaurants, cafés, and small, underground clubs. The popular Weserstrasse, from Hermannplatz down to Fuldastrasse and Rathaus Neukölln, is the center of "hipster Berlin," with an ever-changing array of trendy, often smoke-filled, bars popular with younger sorts.
An independent craft beer pub, Muted Horn was opened by Canadian expats in Berlin and has become one of the city's best brewpubs. With 22 rotating taps, a rustic interior of wooden tables, and a bookshelf full of board games, it's easy to stay here for hours. An outdoor patio is open all year as well.
