ABOUT

Districts in the area just north of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum range from the bustling, multicultural Esquilino neighborhood to the hipster enclaves of Pigneto and San Lorenzo. Like many travelers, you’ll probably at least pass through this area, either when coming into the Termini train station or when visiting the magnificent Basilica of San Giovanni in Laterano. Farther south, the evocative Via Appia Antica is dotted with ruins and catacombs.
