Amsterdam Wiechmann
This charming, family-run hotel is composed of a maze of hallways weaving through three canalside buildings. Offering guest rooms of wildly varying sizes, they are plainly decorated but enlivened by quilted bedspreads, floral drapes, and lovely views of the Prinsengracht. Delightful personal touches include a teapot collection, Delft-blue tiles, fresh flowers everywhere, and complimentary breakfast served in a corner room with wonderful views of the canal. The gold record displayed in the lobby recalls the hotel's time in the 1970s as Boddy's Music Inn, which hosted the likes of the Sex Pistols and Emmylou Harris.
