The Best Bar in Baixa, Lisbon

Background Illustration for Nightlife

Baixa has traditionally been better known for sightseeing and shopping than nightlife, but the esplanades that have sprung up around Praça do Comércio in the past couple of years have changed the area’s vibe. There are now plenty of chic cocktail lounges to be found among the traditional ginjinha joints, making it a good starting point for a night's barhopping. There are a couple of late-opening clubs here, too.

Ministerium Club

Baixa

Baixa's only full-blown dance club, housed in a former government ministry office, showcases leading electronic music DJs as well as rising talent, with raves most Fridays and Saturdays, and sometimes Thursdays, too. Doors usually open at midnight, with three or four DJs taking revelers through to breakfast.
