Located within a gorgeous 19th-century redbrick building in the heart of Todos Santos, Guaycura is a city hotel with resort-like amenities. It's walking distance from all of the town's top shops, restaurants, art galleries, and more. The rooftop pool, though too small to get your laps in, is great for a quick refresh after a busy day out, though the real star is the beach club that all guests have access to. It's on the other side of town, but if you're visiting without a car, the hotel staff is happy to give you a lift.

Local art and modern architecture, plus beautiful Sea of Cortez and beach views make this solar-powered, eco-friendly lodging one of the top East Cape accommodations. Guests will have to travel dirt roads to reach Boca de la Vinorama, but once there its stylishly decorated rooms and suites featuring king or double queen-size memory foam beds, rain forest showers, Wi-Fi, and 40-inch flat-screen TVs don't disappoint. The pool has a swim-up bar in the center, a great place to be when a party breaks out, something sure to happen when the on-site restaurant, Crossroads, hosts live bands on Friday and Saturday in-season (November to May). Surfboard, kayak, and ATV rentals are available for active types, while those more interested in relaxation can recline on shaded beachfront lounges and enjoy the weekly movie night.

Since its opening in 2021, Baja Club has been considered the hotel to stay at in La Paz; the first of now several high-end boutique properties to make themselves home in the capital city. Built in a restored colonial-style villa on a central stretch of the malecón, the hotel has some space limitations but makes the most of it with creative and attractive design. Spring for a balcony room; the outdoor area largely expands the size of your room and having a private space to enjoy the remarkable sunsets is a fine luxury.

Husband and wife duo Fabrizio Cavallo and Nilú Feregrino have dedicated their lives to "conscious living," and Desierto Azul ("where the desert meets the ocean") is their brainchild. Not a single detail was overlooked when designing this four-room microhotel ("we're not boutique, but petite," they say): the property is solar-powered, the beds are fitted with organic sheets and linens, the bath products are locally made and reef-safe, and the bar serves natural wine. They also offer plant-based nutrition workshops twice a month at an on-site cooking studio.

A small, stylish hotel with beach resort amenities, boutique chain Hotel Indigo's new property within the sprawling Puerta Cortés development complex gives travelers the best of both worlds. The hotel remains its own entity (in theory, you could enjoy the outdoor pool all day and never leave), but guests have access to the beach, restaurants, golf course, and more, which are otherwise reserved exclusively for Puerta Cortés owners and members.

Tried-and-true Palmas de Cortez remains the primary option in Los Barriles for travelers seeking central and comfortable beachfront accommodations. First and foremost, though, this is a fishing lodge. Pangas and several sizes of cruisers can be booked through the front desk and depart from the on-site dock, and special lodging and fishing packages are available with prices tiered according to room type and length of stay. Standard rooms are nothing to write home about due to dated decor, but the suites and condos are much nicer.

The location of Todos Santos' most popular hotel is quite extraordinary as you'll immediately be mesmerized by the sights and sounds of crashing waves; you can audibly hear them from your room. (Note: light sleepers may benefit from earplugs; otherwise, enjoy the soothing sound as it lulls you to sleep.) Every inch of the property is thoughtfully designed with a mix of colorful '70's motifs and classic beachy neutrals. The dining is among the best in Todos Santos; Sunday brunch at the farm–to–table restaurant, Cosecha, is the talk of the town. 

If you're looking for a reliable and comfortable place to spend the night, this old-school hotel certainly does the trick. Though the rooms each have two queen beds, there is a flat per person rate for anyone who stays over; solo travelers pay $85, while couples are charged $100. A third or fourth guest (including children over five) are each an additional $25/nightly. The palm-shaded swimming pool has a marlin painted on the bottom, and a bar area with cable television is a good spot to hangout if you want to watch a game, since rooms lack TVs. Guests will have to buy their own booze, but there are a few well-stocked minigroceries nearby. Fishing boat rentals can be arranged in the office, which also has a few books on hand for those in need of a beach read.

The town’s first boutique property, Mantra is a welcome fresh face to an otherwise dated Los Barriles. Owner Gunnar Williamson is building the property himself from the ground up, and not a single detail has been overlooked including the design and comfort of the spacious studio-style villas and the provided amenities, like a stocked kitchenette and full set of beach gear. Expansion plans include more rooms and the installation of a pool and spa.

No lodging in Todos Santos has a more spectacular location than Paradero, which is set within an organic farming community and offers panoramic vistas of desert, mountains, and the Pacific Ocean. Paradero's name, which loosely translates to "a stop along the way," is inspired by their clientele (a majority of guests come as an add-on to Los Cabos or as part of a larger trip around the Baja). The design-forward space is an Instagrammer's paradise, with sleek concrete structures and towering cacti serving as dreamy photo backdrops. Guests can sign up to join different group experiences each day, like a walk around town or sunset viewing at the beach (complete with a bottle of wine). This is an adults-only property, and everything about it is subtly romantic, so noncouples might feel a bit awkward. Aside from dining on-site, there's not much to do once the sun sets; all communal space is outdoors and minimally lit, the rooms intentionally forgo television sets, and there's not a single business to patron within walking distance. Having a rental car is a must if you plan to spend time in town, as the hotel charges a 400% markup on the 10-minute ride to/from.

This strictly adults-only boutique arts hotel is one block back from the malecón, but the views from the towering (for the area) fifth floor rooftop cannot be beat. While the exterior architecture looks a bit unusual from afar, the interior design of the lobby, restaurants, and rooms are outstanding. Some design choices, however, take the "aesthetic" too far and disrupt the functionality of the space.
