2 Best Hotels in El Cuyo, Yucatán and Campeche States

At this hotel on the beach, which opened in 2021, the restaurant and reception area have a boho vibe, the rooms are very basic, and the service is more friendly than polished—a description that fits much of El Cuyo. Still, there are few places in Mexico where you can still find a room just a few steps from the sea for under $100 a night. Just keep your expectations in check (or stay elsewhere and pay more). 

Situated as it is at the eastern end of El Cuyo, LunArena offers a trade-off—on the one hand, the beach here is quiet, but, on the other hand, the location means that you'll have to walk a ways to reach other area amenities. Rooms have white plaster walls, understated furnishings, and small kitchenettes. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast and Mexican, Italian, and American favorites in the evening. The small pool is best for just a quick dip after a swim in the ocean.
