The neutral palette throughout, with crisp white beds and white subway tile in the showers, is soothing but never boring (take a good look at the large portrait in each guest room: the hotel's namesake stands in his military finery, complete with stage-ready eye makeup and dangling diamonds), especially when punctuated with brilliant bathroom floor tiles and gleaming wood floors.
