Burg's Corner

Since 1948, Burg’s Corner has been peddling peaches from Jimmy Duecker Orchards, alongside a wide range of other fruits, vegetables, and products from local vendors. Stop by for a bowl of homemade peach ice cream topped with fresh peach compote, and snap a photo in front of the “Life Is Peachy” mural. Off-season, there is plenty of other beautiful produce to purchase, as well as a plethora of preserved peach products.

Oro Bianco Italian Creamery

This bright and airy shop is a perfect place to stop and grab a buffalo mozzarella sandwich for lunch, or a scoop of homemade gelato, also made from the milk of a herd of water buffalo that graze over two ranches in the Hill Country. There is outdoor seating on a spacious back patio and a small Italian grocery selling cured meats, cheeses, and other specialty food items, as well as books, kitchen tools, and coffee. Bring the family, because you can often find a few water buffalo grazing out back. Oro Bianco Italian Creamery now has outposts in Blanco, Dripping Springs, and Fredericksburg.

Piccolina

Originally a popup, this tiny stone storefront with outdoor seating is where owner Christina Harman, inspired by her love of the Amalfi Coast, whips up her small-batch Italian ices and gelato made with locally sourced ingredients. Piccolina is a happy place, filled with fresh flowers and delicious flavors that just make people feel good. Try the fresh-squeezed lemonade, or ices made with Prosecco and dubbed The Proseccolina.

The Tasting Place

A big ole taste of Texas awaits at this delightful gourmet food shop, also known as Rustlin’ Rob's Texas Gourmet Food. The shop features a vast and irresistible range of hot sauce, salsa, jerky, preserves, and rubs and spices, almost all made in Texas. As a nod to Fredericksburg’s German roots, they also offer spices for German mulled wine. Find a perfect gift—the Dynamite Chili Fixins and Cornbread bundle is a standout—but you will likely end up taking something home for yourself, too.

Texas Salt Co.

Light, bright, and filled to the brim with just about every iteration of Texas salt imaginable: smoked salts, spicy salts, culinary and cooking salts, beer and cocktail salts, and the coup de grace: cowboy salt, which is cold-smoked over hardwood, with garlic and fresh rosemary, perfect for finishing meat and seafood. You can also find great gift sets, candles, and a few kitchen accessories. The salt is smoked over bourbon barrels, and it's so good that it's honestly a little addictive.
