Forks
The former logging town of Forks is named for two nearby river junctions: the Bogachiel and Calawah Rivers merge west of town, and a few miles farther they are joined by the Soleduck to form the Quileute River, which empties into the Pacific at the Native American village of La Push. Forks is a small, quiet gateway town for Olympic National Park's Hoh River valley unit. The surrounding countryside is exceptionally green, with an annual precipitation of more than 100 inches. As the setting for the popular Twilight movie series, the town has become a favorite destination for fans in recent years, and Bella's Birthday Weekend, in October, has plenty of Twilight-related events.
