The Oystercatcher

$$$$ Fodor's Choice

A dining destination for foodies from across the Northwest long renowned for its local-inspired cuisine, the Oystercatcher features a simple menu that's heavily influenced by local in-season ingredients. The intimate, romantic dining space in the heart of town is a favorite spot for special occasions. In 2023 the restaurant changed hands, with new owners Ben Jones and his wife Sophia Jones taking on the roles of executive chef and wine program management, respectively. They've expanded the wine list with a focus on sustainability and added a five-course chef's tasting menu.

Front Street Grill

$$$

Many regulars skip right past the rest of the menu to get to the restaurant's selection of local Penn Cove mussels. They're served seven different ways, from a traditional white wine sauce to the signature coconut green curry. Even the kids' menu offers mussels in butter sauce. Located right on the waterfront, with windows framing views of Penn Cove and Mount Baker, Front Street also offers fare like burgers and pasta for non-shellfish lovers.
