The resort is steps from a plethora of activities including skiing, zip-lining, miniature golf, horseback riding, and hiking. The property also welcomed an on-site spa, with an array of treatments including massages and facials, in early 2023.

Antler Inn

$$$ | 43 W. Pearl St., Jackson, WY, 83001, USA

No motel in Jackson has a better location—or a bigger hot tub (it seats 25 people)—than this old-school lodging, a block south of Town Square. Many rooms have fireplaces, and a few have jetted tubs, but otherwise they're standard motel rooms. In winter, there's a complimentary ski shuttle.

Pros

  • Restaurants nearby
  • Family-run
  • Great prices in the off-season

Cons

  • Frequently booked up in summer
  • Breakfast is grab-and-go
  • Motel vibe won't appeal to all visitors

The Cloudveil, Autograph Collection

$$$$ | 112 Center St., Jackson, WY, USA

This member of Marriott's prestigious Autograph Collection opened in 2021, just a two-minute walk from Jackson Town Square. The stylish interior, with its impressive stonework (including a 3,000-pound boulder that is used as the front desk) is far from cookie cutter. Rooms have hardwood flooring, with chic rugs, and the bathrooms have sliding barn wood doors, to save space. Most rooms, with the exception of the double-queen rooms, have gas fireplaces. For the best views, request a room facing Center Street, where you'll be able to see Snow King Mountain. You also can't go wrong with the 875-square-foot Cloudveil Suite, which has a private balcony and soaking tub. The on-site restaurant, The Bistro, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a Parisian flair.

Pros

  • Rooftop terrace with events like yoga, stargazing, and live music
  • Fitness center with Peloton bikes among other state-of-the-art equipment
  • Pet-friendly

Cons

  • High rates
  • $38 per night resort fee
  • Some design aspects, like lighting, are more fashionable than functional

This friendly, well-maintained establishment—with freestanding log cabins with kitchenettes, covered decks, and barbecue grills—is one of the better values in Jackson. It's just a 15-minute walk from the Town Square but on a relatively quiet side street. Kids love the cabins with bunk beds. Free continental breakfast is offered during the ski season, but coffee service is year-round.

Pros

  • Shuttle to ski areas
  • Indoor pool and hot tub
  • Dog-friendly

Cons

  • Crowded in summer

The Virginian Lodge

$$$ | 750 W. Broadway, Jackson, WY, 83001, USA

More of a motor inn than a lodge, this property (which reopened in 2023 after extension renovations) pays homage to the past with its retro theme, but all the furnishings are brand-spanking-new. It's a sprawling, single-story property (it also has an RV park), but most guests love that they can park right in front of their room. The Virginian Lodge has one of Jackson’s few all-season outdoor pools, and its two oversized hot tubs are a hit with the après ski crowd. The room service menu is pretty limited, but there’s a restaurant on-site serving breakfast and lunch, and a saloon with great beer and even better taxidermy. For DIY cocktails in your room, hit up the liquor store adjacent to the lobby.

Pros

  • On-site ski rentals
  • Many communal firepits and nightly s’mores
  • Dog-friendly

Cons

  • The property hosts many events and can get noisy
  • Not within walking distance of downtown Jackson
  • Some rooms open into the courtyard so there’s a lack of privacy
