Zorah Beach Hotel

$$$$ | Rua da Praia 95, Guajiru, Trairi, 62690000, Brazil Fodor's Choice
This surprisingly sophisticated boutique hotel, tucked away on the deserted shores of Guariju (130 km northwest of Fortaleza), has Balinese-inspired suites, bunaglows, and villas, decked out with Asian design pieces and state-of-the-art amenities. Indian owner Sumeet Dhillon's influence translates to the kitchen, too, where visiting chefs train the local team to craft the perfect fish curry and homemade naan, along with northeastern classics such as pumpkin risotto with carne seca (shredded jerky). While adventure lovers can take their pick between kite-surfing, surfing, paddleboarding, and dune buggy rides, the magnificent inifinty pool, overlooking the shore, is a tough place to tear away yourself from. Opt for one of the bunaglows, which comes with its own deck and spa tub in the secluded, private garden.
