Estalagem de Santa Iria Hotel & Spa

$ | Rua Parque do Mouchão, Tomar, 2300-586, Portugal

This historic inn, located on its own leafy island in the Nabão River, was closed for a decade before reopening in 2023 with contemporary dark-wood interiors and an array of new services, including a small spa with an indoor-outdoor pool which is adults-only from 7 pm. All guest rooms have a view of the river or the garden stretching in front of the hotel; the deluxe ones have a balcony or terrace. For families, the small climbing wall in the garden is a bonus. The hotel's Mouchão restaurant (€21) mainly serves traditional Portuguese fare, in three airy dining rooms with more lovely views.

Pros

  • Central location
  • Outdoor hydromassage bed overlooks river
  • Charming views of bucolic surroundings

Cons
