No other part of Wyoming has such a variety of lodging properties that appeal to all budgets. Lodging options in the area include elegant and expensive properties such as the Amangani and Four Seasons resorts in Jackson Hole, guest ranches in the Dubois and Jackson areas, historic inns, simple cabins, and dozens of chain motels.
It’s a good idea to reserve well ahead for lodging in the town of Jackson in July and August. You should also reserve lodgings at Teton Village well in advance for skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.
The Lander flour mill was built in 1888 and remained in operation in 1950, becoming a local institution and one of the first buildings you see upon entering the town. Now the Mill House is a boutique hotel (bookable on Airbnb by the room or by the whole place) right in the heart of downtown Lander. With beautiful suites paying homage to the residents and travelers, the Mill House is a modern take on vintage styling.
On the north side of town, this motel is within five blocks of downtown shopping and restaurants. All rooms have contemporary furniture, flat-screen TVs, mini-refrigerators, and microwaves.
Huge pine trees surround this 1933 log home filled with the owner's family antiques. Downstairs there's a sitting room where you can relax with a book or chat with other guests. The master bedroom, with a fireplace, private bathroom, and private entrance, is also on the ground floor. It's just a 15-minute walk from the Town Square but on a relatively quiet side street. Kids love the cabins with bunk beds. Free continental breakfast is offered during the ski season, but coffee service is year-round.
Originally used as barracks for the Civilian Conservation Corps when they were building South Pass, the rooms at Gannett Peak Lodge are now a haven for budget-minded travelers and digital nomads. A full renovation was completed in 2017 to bring the property into the 21st century, and air-conditioning was added in 2023. All rooms and suites have kitchenettes and share on-site laundry.
This two-story hotel sits on a hill overlooking Lander and is within walking distance of restaurants and discount-store shopping. In lieu of a continental breakfast, guests get a grab-and-go bag.
Owners Fabian and Krista Lobera poured their blood, sweat, and tears into transforming a dilapidated motor inn, built in 1941, from a Main Street eyesore to a Main Street mainstay. It opened in 2023, and a brewery, housed in a former service station, opened next door in 2024. Rooms all feature bright yellow doors and are accessible via key codes. While the outside of the building is modest, and there’s no pool or fitness center, the contemporary, light-filled interiors are worthy of a magazine photo shoot. No detail, from the smart thermostat to the makeup face towels, was overlooked. The property is pet-friendly, and the extended-stay rooms feature kitchenettes with a colored iio Retro Series refrigerator, microwave, and separate sitting area.
Well-regarded, this family-owned lodging has cabins and a small camping area/RV park in a cottonwood grove. It's 3 miles east of Dubois, with a view of the painted badlands.
Despite a location just three blocks from Jackson's bustling town square, this charming two-story inn is quiet and cozy. Forget Ikea: rooms and suites feature rich, hickory furniture, a Western motif, and custom Alder wood cabinetry. The overall effect is homey and comforting, especially if you plan to stay more than a few days. The property has two hot tubs, an indoor pool, and a fitness center with his and hers saunas.
This basic, two-star log hotel is next to a beautiful golf course, the Rendezvous Meadows, and 2 miles west of the Museum of the Mountain Man. Most rooms are simple but still feature a desk/workspace, a mini-refrigerator, and a TV. Suites have kitchenettes and Jacuzzis, and all rooms have access to guest laundry, a barbecue grill, fitness facilities, and an indoor pool and hot tub.
