A little path leads to a garden and an outdoor pool, which was revamped in 2025 and a Jacuzzi and paddling area added, all open year-round. The rooms have wood floors and modern decor; half of those on the top floor have a rooftop terrace with a view of the old farming village. The restaurant (€21) is justly renowned for its local and international cuisine and has a cellar with some 400 Portuguese wines, several of which may be ordered by the glass.

A five-minute walk from downtown, this hotel has studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments---the latter accommodating up to five adults---that are simply but pleasantly furnished with fully equipped modern kitchenettes; most have castle views. By the rooftop pool (which is open year-round, although water quality is checked only from mid-May through September) is a café-bar that serves drinks and snacks from 6 pm until midnight on weekdays (and from 4 pm on weekends); otherwise there's just the minibar in reception.
