$$ | 654 E. Division St., Forks, 98331, USA Fodor's Choice

With country antiques, fluffy quilts, and big windows overlooking peaceful pastures, this 1916 farmhouse on the east side of downtown Forks is nicknamed the "Cullen House" for its resemblance to the description in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books. A separate apartment has a private entrance and kitchenette. All rooms have TVs and refrigerators, and some also have microwaves. One parlor has a library and piano; the other has games. Lemonade and cookies are served on the front porch in summer.

  • Nearby rivers offer prime salmon and steelhead fishing
  • Children are welcome in some rooms

Pacific Inn Motel

$$ | 352 S. Forks Ave., Forks, 98331, USA

It may not look like much from the outside, but one of the only motels for 50 miles in either direction is a comfortable and clean budget choice and a handy base for exploring Olympic National Park, with spacious rooms with modern furnishings and framed landscape photos. A couple of accommodations do stand out, however: a kitschy Twilight-themed room with framed movie posters and a red-and-black color scheme, and one larger suite with a full kitchen and separate living room.

Pros

  • Affordable rates are a good value
  • Central location
  • Immaculately kept

Cons

  • No breakfast
  • Low on frills
  • Not in a scenic part of town
