The menu tends toward shareable small plates that pair well with the interesting vinos—consider a selection of imported salumi and cheeses, or Spanish- and Italian-inspired platters of patatas bravas with roasted-garlic aioli, burrata caprese, and stuffed piquillo peppers.

This funky restaurant on Main Street has haute cuisine from both land and water. For starters try the ahi tuna poke avocado stack or crispy brussels sprouts served with a balsamic reduction. In downtown Jackson's dramatic, imaginatively retrofitted Art Deco cinema building, this modern high-energy pizza place has mezzanine and ground-level tables that look directly toward an open kitchen with two massive wood-fired ovens. The flavorful pies and salads abound with mostly organic, often local ingredients. Build your own pizza, or try one of the house specialties. The Bison Son of a Gun features bison chili, and the Tomato Tomato is a hit with vegans.

A local institution, this bakery is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and quick breakfast to go or hang out for hours just people-watching. In the summer months, tables are adorned with wildflowers. Sandwiches, soups, homemade bagels, muffins, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and so much more will keep you coming back every morning of your stay in Lander.

This contemporary American steak house is located right on Jackson's historic town square and serves locally ranched beef, bison, and elk. Come for a fine-dining quality meal, but without the stuffy atmosphere. You may be sitting next to a member of the Jackson elite or a Wyoming rancher. Bring the family, and order the chef's choice "M&M," a rotating selection of custom steaks served family-style.

Not only does Nana’s, which opened in 2023, offer fresh donuts and eight lanes of bowling, but it also has a full-scale diner serving up all the casual fare you’d expect at an amusement park. In fact, kids will love the arcade games and prizes. There’s also a mechanical bull and a golf simulator among other games. The owner, who also owns the National Museum of Military Vehicles down the road, goes out of his way to hire staff with special needs, and the establishment, albeit big and over-the-top, has been embraced by the community. 

Nora's is one of those inimitable Western places that has earned their keep as a local treasure among its many loyal customers. It's also earned the approval of Guy Fieri, who featured this little log inn on his show Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives in 2014. It's a great spot to fill up on a breakfast of sourdough pancakes or huevos rancheros. Expect hearty entrees such as trout amandine, prime rib, chicken-fried tofu, and Cornish game hen. For more casual fare, hit up Nora's pizza shack that serves New York-style pies. 

The best seating at this rustic-contemporary bakery café a short stroll east of Jackson Town Square is on the spacious, shaded deck overlooking lively Broadway Avenue. Choose from an extensive menu of eclectic breakfast and lunch fare, including egg peperonata, brioche French toast with seasonal fruit compote, and one of the best jambon-beurres you'll find outside of Paris. At the very least, you need to try a plain croissant, made with 100-percent European butter. Persephone is a good, albeit pricey, stop for pre-sightseeing picnic supplies, too. There's another location in Wilson, too.

By the Ranch Lot at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, this casually smart Thai-owned restaurant serves some of the most authentic, if a bit pricey, Asian fare in the region. The pad Thai and tom yum gai soup are among the specialties, and there's a full bar. Walk-ins only.

The town's oldest saloon, known as the "Merc," serves refreshments in a room that has seen its share of gold miners, perhaps an outlaw or two, and certainly some ruffians. When you step through the doors of this 1893 building with tin ceilings, a massive back bar, and an assortment of mismatched oak tables and chairs, you may feel as though you've walked directly into an episode of Gunsmoke. At times, a honky-tonk piano player is on hand. The menu includes steak, chicken, and seafood, plus sandwiches and big burgers. Note: hours vary wildly, so call ahead. In winter, it's only open Fri.–Sun.

Edison bulbs and wooden booths impart a simple but contemporary atmosphere to this modern Korean restaurant on the west side of downtown Jackson, evidence of the town's growing embrace of international cuisine. The kitchen offers up an enticing mix of classics like spicy seafood soup with udon noodles, pork-kimchi stew, and fragrant short-rib barbecue. Of course, you also can't go wrong with what most people opt for: the beef bulgogi. The children's menu has the usuals: chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, etc. But it also has a kid-sized kimbap. 

A favorite of locals, the Bear Den serves up traditional steak-house favorites and more including shrimp tacos, corned beef, and daily pasta specials. Kids can order off the cub's menu which features the usual suspects.

Smoked pork shoulder served with an array of house sauces and mouthwatering prime beef brisket are the specialties at this busy barbecue joint, which evokes the Old West with its wooden booths, Western paintings, and antique signs. Sandwiches and salads (try the homemade barbecue ranch dressing) are also available. This is also one of the best breakfast options in Jackson, but there can be long waits in summer or winter. Desserts include homemade chocolate buttermilk pie and ice cream. 

Lunch is served year-round and dinner is served in summer, but it's the breakfasts and home-baked pastries that are irresistible here. It's elbow to elbow inside, so you may have to wait to be seated on busy mornings, but any inconvenience is well worth it. In summer there's outdoor seating.

Serving full-fare, authentic Cantonese-style Chinese food, this might be the only joint in America where you'll find a giant moose statue outside and Asian decor on the inside. It's good for families with picky eaters, as the menu carries more than 100 items—from sweet-and-sour shrimp to fried chicken nuggets. The menu also has a nice selection of Thai food.

Among the homemade, blue-ribbon dishes served at this small restaurant in downtown Dubois are sandwiches, steaks, buffalo burgers, chicken, pork, baby back ribs, and fish. For dessert the peach caramel crunch and chocolate bourbon pecan pie are guaranteed winners. You can also grab a hearty breakfast and sip hot coffee alongside the cowboy clientele.

Dinner at Figs, which is on the first floor of the hip Hotel Jackson, is a hot reservation in a town with no other options for Lebanese food. For breakfast, you can’t go wrong with the shakshuka, but the best way to do lunch or dinner here is to order a bunch of small plates to pass around and maybe get a kebab or shawarma to share. There are only a handful of tables and a few booths, so it is especially busy on weekends, when you are unlikely to land a spot without a reservation.

This crowded, noisy place serves your typical salads, sizeable sandwiches, ½-pound burgers on toasted brioche, and hand-tossed pizzas. When the weather cooperates, you can sit on the garden deck while the kids play in the yard.

This cute log cabin juicery, next door to Persephone Bakery and founded by a wellness coach with a cultlike following, offers an array of 100% organic made-to-order cold-pressed juices. Coffee-wise, they can make any espresso drink (even a latte with mushrooms). The food menu includes salads and bowls featuring "superfoods," as well as breakfast sandwiches, served all day. 

This family-owned eatery offers some pretty decent Mexican food despite being 1,000 miles north of the border. Lunch and dinner options include taquitos rancheros, chimichangas, and multiple kinds of of enchiladas: all of which barely fit on the plates they're served on. Although shellfish in these parts are hard to come by, they do have prawns and scallops, served with a mojo de ajo on the menu. There's also a random separate burger menu whose crown jewel is the Royal Burger topped with a fried egg.

Folks pour in off the ski slopes for a lot of food and talk at this two-level restaurant with a bar and an outdoor deck facing the mountain. If you can endure the noise, you'll enjoy dishes like elk empanadas, bison carpaccio, and fig bleu cheese flatbread. Reservations for dinner are recommended, and the saloon/bar is a popular nightspot often featuring live music. 

You'll get more-than-generous portions of Mexican fare at this institution first established in 1969 as a shack on Crabtree Corner. Today, it's a real restaurant, usually noisy and jam-packed, but there's a full-service bar whipping up a must-try Oaxaca old-fashioned that you can sip in the festive atmosphere while waiting for your table. Food favorites include sizzling fajitas, kickin' chicken street tacos, nachos with the rich Twisted Cowgirl queso dip upgrade, and the Piglet Sampler featuring a variety of signature dishes. Choose from an array of homemade sauces to accompany your dish. 

This trendy café is located in the historic 1918 Coolidge building and also has a small selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. With almost everything locally sourced, The Middle Fork sustainably serves up breakfast classics and lunch sandwiches (half-orders are an option for many dishes). 

Drop in for breakfast, lunch, or an early dinner at this mom-and-pop place that also has a saloon and a general store. Kitchen often closes early so as not to compete with the neighboring Mercantile. Hours vary, so call ahead to be sure, especially in the winter. 

In addition to a location in downtown Jackson, there’s a Pearl Street Bagels in this little wooden outpost just off Teton Pass Highway. The coffee and espresso here are always hot, the bagels are usually fresh (ask your barista which flavor came out of the oven last), and most of the spreads are homemade.

What Spur lacks in mountain views it more than makes up for with its memorable entrées like flavorful Skuna Bay blackened salmon. That said, it’s not uncommon for diners to fill up on starters and cocktails (both are excellent) and not even make it to their main meal. Recently renovated and located on the first floor of Teton Mountain Lodge, Spur also serves breakfast. With its buffalo bratwurst, the carnivore omelet is a good choice, but you also can’t go wrong with the huckleberry buttermilk pancakes. A retractable glass wall opens onto a patio for the summer months. 

A colorful option for fans of international food, this festive miniature food hall at Wilson's famously rollicking Stagecoach Bar offers well-prepared Mexican, Asian, and American comfort foods. There's a large deck and an expansive lawn with picnic tables for alfresco dining during the warmer months, or you can dine in the lively bar.

This microbrewery and grill serves award-winning grog and high-quality pub grub including chicken wings, burgers, salads, and wraps.
